a second generation family run business, was established in 1983. Walter “Bill” Conlin III started the company on a small scale, with one customer support staff and one sales team member, representing a select few manufacturers focused on perishable food products to the food service industry. Putting his 30 years of sales experience to work, Bill Sr. was able to quickly grow the business using his professionalism, expertise, and well earned integrity. As the company grew over the years, addition key lines and key team members were added in an effort to better service the growing customer base.
In 1992 Bill’s son, Bill Conlin IV joined the business. Bill had previously worked for a large food manufacturer as a territory manager. Seeing that the family business was growing and needing some additional sales help, Bill Jr. decided to join the team. Working side by side, the Conlin’s were able to grow the business at a much faster pace. Their superior products and outstanding integrity in the industry allowed them to grow further into Regional Restaurant Chains, Smart and Final, and Costco to name a few key partners.
As Bill Sr.’s health began to falter, Bill Jr. took a much more active role in management and the strategic planning of the business. As things transitioned, Bill Jr. purchased the business from his father in 1998. The business had come full circle for Bill Sr. He was able to grow a fledgling business into a vital sales organization servicing the Southern California Food Service market while keeping it in the family as he retired. Bill Sr. passed in 2003 but his presence is felt every day in all aspects of how Conlin Brokerage continues on.
The Conlin Team today consist of four sales members and a customer service department. Bill Jr. runs all aspects of the day to day operations while still actively servicing and selling many key accounts. The company continues to grow using the same principals and techniques employed by Bill Sr. from day one: Provide the highest quality products available, professionally, with follow up and follow through that is second to none.
